Codec Alliance for Open Media

I followed the codec alliance and discussion about google´s vp10 and other open video codec. Its an nice idea, but without the support of the hardware companies that put this codec into silicon, its just a software solution that will power-out the mobile´cpu´s battery life. I can´t see right now a hardware vendor like ARM,samsung, rockchip or allwinner is jumping into this new development. Lasts spent millions of dollars for developing their H.265 hardware decoders and i´m sure that they not get their invest back yet. I also think that the H.265 patent pool is overpriced and has a false business model.
